TWSHSC is the first of its kind to be set up in an industrial part in Singapore, integrating TWSH into its practices.
WHST is proud to be at the forefront, reaching out to 600 Small and Medium Enterprises to make a safer and healthier workplace for everyone.
Return to Work Programme
WHST provides expertise and consultation for Return To Work (RTW) Programme.
The RTW Programme is an initiative of WSH council. It helps individuals suffering from work-related injuries reintegrate themselves into their place of work post-injury. This supports full recovery, ensuring long-term employability and health of your staff.
Programmes such as the above require the involvement of a Designated Workplace Doctor trained in Occupational Medicine. It is important for this doctor to understand the medical condition and job demands of the company, ensuring the worker’s healthcare and safety is maintained at all times.
As such, a detailed RTW plan is important to help workers recovering from injuries back into the workplace. It is here that WHST can help companies link up with such experienced and trained doctor at a reasonable rate.
Fit-for-Work Process
In addition to the RTW programme, WHST also play a role as a consultant to companies during Fit-for-Work Processes.
Not all workers employed have the same capabilities. Workers that are not fit for the position on hand might injure themselves, and companies might be faced with the liabilities associated with potential accidents or worse, fatality on their premises.
Therefore, a Total WSH approach is important, and worker’s personal health should also be factored into the Risk Assessment (RA) for a holistic assessment of the worker. This can be done under direct advise from industry experts such as WHST.
Scientific Safety
Hazards are common in laboratory or industrial environments. Most hazards encountered fall into three main categories: chemical, biological, or physical.
Potential exposures to cleaning agents, disinfectants, drugs, etc are examples of chemical hazards, which can occur both during use and with poor storage. Similar to chemical hazards, biological hazards include potential exposures to allergens or viral vectors etc On the other hand, physical hazards are associated with research facilities. The most obvious are slips and falls and the ergonomic hazards of lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive tasks. Ignoring these can have potentially serious consequences, causing catastrophic damage to property and harm to individuals and community.
